MOTORSHOW
INT'L REVS UP FOR MANILA, CEBU LEGS
Motorshow
International Manila, the longest running auto and cycle show
in the Philippines, is back to gather car enthusiasts, warming
up with activities in Manila in September and going full blast
with the Motorshow Cebu International at the Cebu International
Convention Center (CICC) in Mandaue City, Cebu, on Oct. 16-21.
The
8th Motorshow International in Cebu promises to surpass its previous
track record by being more than a car show.
''It
has transcended just being a show to display cars which we have
been doing for the past 15 years. Motorshow international is a
lifestyle expo, a total motoring extravaganza jampacked with special
activities. It is also a forum for a more extensive understanding
of an industry that is committed to adapt to the needs of the
ecology while still providing excitement and fuel to a never-ending
need for speed,'' explains Marissa D. Nallana, president of organizer
Motorshow International Inc.
Slated at the 8th Motorshow Cebu are the first ever Motorshow
Treasure Seekers (an adventure race), the Annual Car Clubs Meet,
Motorshow Cebu Grand Slalom, the Motorshow In Scale, the always
exciting Best in Show Competition and the Outlast Autocross, and
more.
Exhibitors include car/SUV/RUV and motorcycle assemblers and manufacturers,
petroleum products, oil companies, truck/bus assembler and dealers,
automotive parts, accessories and gadgets sellers, car care products,
maintenance and service equipment, car conditioning, cycling gears,
automotive associations both local and international and allied
industries and services.
Special
activities, awards and car and bike club meets are set to wow
local and foreign attendees.
The much-anticipated Annual Motorshow Cebu Best in Show competition
(open class competition) will showcase vintage and classic cars,
restored to its original state going head to head for the plum
title. There will also be a showcase of contemporary cars (European/
Japanese made) with modifications varying from low, medium and
heavy, depending on the add-ons/ accessories installed on the
body and engine of the cars.
An expected crowd-drawer is the ''Motorshow In Scale'' which will
showcase static miniature replicas of cars, trucks, jeeps and
motorcycles meticulously and intricately assembled and made of
plastic, metal or wood.
Corporate sponsors for the event include Petron Corporation, Cebu
Unique Trade, Outlast Battery, Ambi-Pur, and PS Bank, with Cebu
Daily News, Sunstar, Freeman, Y101, DYRF, NU 107, Crossover 105.1
as media partners.
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), Department
of Trade and Industry (DTI), Land Transportation Office (LTO),
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB),
Province of Cebu, European Chamber of Commerce (ECCP), Cebu Association
