MOTORSHOW RETURNS TO HISTORIC CEBU

It may not be as ancient as Magellan's expedition or Lapu-lapu's exploits, but the humble origin of Philippine motorshows is one of the many "firsts" that have contributed to Cebu's contemporary historicity.

In 1989, the country's first-ever transportation show opened for public viewing in this historic place that's known for its guitars, white beaches and friendly people. At the time, Cebu seemed the natural choice for the event due to its phenomenal economic growth then dubbed as "Ceboom."

Bringing together all stakeholders in the land, sea and air transport industries from different parts of the country, the show delighted a wide audience eager to appreciate the latest innovations in various transport vehicle products, technology and systems.

The show's resounding success later led the organizers to spin off from the Philippine Exhibitions and Trade Corporation (PETCO) to form the Motorshow International Inc. and orchestrate a more elaborate, dynamic and highly evolved exhibit now dubbed as the Motorshow International Philippines, also known as "The Motorshow."

Since then, the show has never failed to attract thousands of spectators who view the colorful exhibit that comes complete with the latest trends and innovations in cars and motorcycles as well as gadgets, maintenance equipment and accessories.

Show exhibitors, on the other hand, take pride in displaying their best products and services amidst a rapidly-changing and expanding market where only the most competitively excellent are assured of sustained growth.

This year, Motorshow International Inc. brings back the nation's premier transport show right where it all started – Cebu!

On a grand six-day run from October 16 to 21, 2007, the 8th Motorshow Cebu International promises to delight visitors at the Cebu International Convention Center --- site of a historic gathering of Southeast Asian leaders earlier this year.

Featuring corporate displays, auto and cycle exhibits, conferences, Best in Show competitions, Motorshow in Scale contests, car club meets, races, treasure hunts and many more highlights, the 8th Motorshow Cebu International will be yet another memorable event in a string of important milestones in the country's transport industry.
